Katie has done some superb finishing on her felted jacket. Back in June at our garment workshop we saw this jacket being fitted. It had started out as three sleeveless tops. Great conversion Katie!

This weekend is the (Nelson/Marlborough/Buller) Area (of NZSWWS, New Zealand Spinners, Weavers and Wooldcrafts Society) Annual Retreat at Lake Rotoiti. Apparently there was frypan dyeing done on Friday night, as there were skeins drying when we got there Saturday morning.
I was asked by a gallery to weave a small scarf in two days. I currently have warps on all my looms, but I have a second warp beam on my "table" loom, which I don't use often because it's too far away from the front of the loom. And as luck would have it, I was thinking of rethreading the existing sample warp anyway. (Or rather, I think I use the second warp beam only, and it was the first warp beam I used in this instance; in the photo it is hidden behind the back of the loom.)
