Now that The Exhibition is up and running it's time to think about what to wear to The Festival.
This top had its first outing at the exhibition opening. The fabric is plain weave with a double thread in both warp and weft. The yarn is an uncertain mixture of fibres; definitely some cotton with a slight slub, definitely some linen or some other plant fibre (a bit of vegetation included) and maybe some viscose or something else with a shine that is more than the lustre of the linen. Super to work with. Crochet at neck and hem is with the same yarn and pearl beads seemed just right to fill the spaces.
And how long is it since I made the blue jacket? 9 or 10 months! Finally, with help from Chris who found me the right yarn, I braided a cord and added the finishing touch. With luck, if the weather is like it has been at Easter, it will be too warm to wear it.
