Weaving Workshop June 2018

Our June meeting took the form of a weaving workshop with several looms threaded up in advance for some of the more unusual techniques, mostly based on plain weave but integrated or enhanced in some way in order to gain surface interest and make the most of specialty yarns. We had a small number attending but that meant there was a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of time for everyone to move around and try the techniques on offer. Here are the busy beavers.

More photos to come.

Award Winner

What a glorious sight to brighten up a gloomy winter day. This photo won Chris Beech an award at her Camera Club recently. Congratulations Chris.

May Meeting Part 3

And there's more. This time it's Show and Tell.
Win's last batch of tea towels disappeared so quickly she set about making some more.

Close up shows the characteristics of the DEA slub linen - ideal for the purpose.

Rosemary has a massive commission for table linen in various sizes. This is one of the napkins.

And for a different set, this length of linen will be for placemats.

June meeting is coming up and it will take the form of a workshop with emphasis on integrated and surface interest weaves. Watch this space!
