Bag, by Chris Beech
Chris was much too dismissive of this attractive bag, but her view may have been colored by the fact the body of the bag used to be her skirt some years ago. Made of wool, with a lovely new band, this bag comes in a hefty, nice size and a unique shape. Chris is going to use it to haul library books.
reply to Diane Thanks all for the +ve comments - as Meg says, I still see a 1970's A line skirt rather than a bag! The band/handles is a warp faced twill band woven on a 4 shaft loom - much faster than on an inkle loom.
Marlborough Weavers meet on the third Monday of the month at Bobbin Cottage in Brayshaw Heritage Park, 26 Arthur Baker Place, (off New Renwick Road), Blenheim, or at members' homes, from February to November.
Marlborough Tapestry Weavers meet fortnightly but schedule varies so please contact us before hand.
Enquiries for both groups can be sent to this address.

Fabulous bag Chris. Are the band/handles Inkle loom woven? Plaited end detail finishes it beautifully.
It was really a nice bag, Dianne. If Chris had said one more bad thing about it, I would definitely have pinched it!!
Chris is altogether too self-deprecating. I think it's brilliant!
Hear, hear!!

Ah, are there any books with information/patterns for doing bands?
