April Meeting

It was a lovely day for our April meeting and it proved to be busy, busy, busy. We planned to talk about and actually do some weaving in the overshot technique.  This was a nostalgia trip for many of us who learned about overshot almost as soon as we knew how to hold a shuttle. But some newer members had no idea what it was about so there was quite a discussion as well as a number of examples which had emerged from hibernation.  Three looms were set up for people to try. More of that later. Photos will come in several small installments this month.  Here we are at lunch time.

New weaver Melanie very quickly learned how to find her way around a 4 shaft table loom and happily gave up on grocery shopping and raced home to get weaving instead.
When Jenny downsized and moved house she donated her lovely swift to the Guild. Now she has to come to Bobbin Cottage to use it. She found some silk she dyed some years ago. Now what will she do with it?

Keep watching for more photos soon.
